ZoneSprout is a gardening reference. Using it means you accept what is below. It is short on purpose.
The advice is an estimate, not a promise
Every date in the app is arithmetic: your USDA hardiness zone, the average frost dates recorded for it, and how a given plant behaves relative to those. Averages are not forecasts. A late frost, an early heatwave, a wet spring, your soil, your slope and the wall that shades your garden until eleven o'clock will all beat the average.
Treat the dates as a well-informed starting point, and your own eyes as the authority. We do not guarantee a harvest, a bloom, or that a plant will survive.
Your account
You do not need one. The app works without signing in, and a subscription can be bought without one — nothing asks you for an email address or a password in order to plan a garden.
What signing in buys you is portability. Until you do, your beds, journal and photographs live on the phone you made them on; afterwards they belong to you instead, so a new phone finds the garden already there and a subscription follows you to it. Keep your sign-in details to yourself and tell us if you think somebody else has them. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
You can have it deleted at any time — see deleting your account. We may close an account that is being used to attack the service or to break the law.
What you put in
Your beds, journal entries and photos are yours. You keep them. We store them only to show them back to you and to run the service, and we do not publish them, sell them, or use them for advertising. Do not upload anything you do not have the right to.
What is ours
The app, the site, the plant database, the drawings and the schedules are ours. Use them for your own gardening as much as you like. Do not scrape the database, republish it, or resell it.
Subscriptions, the free trial, and refunds
ZoneSprout is free to download. Using the planner needs ZoneSprout Pro, which begins with a 7-day free trial. After the trial it is $7.99 per month or $79.99 per year. Prices are in US dollars and may differ in your local currency; the price you will actually pay is shown on the purchase screen before you confirm.
Nothing is charged during the trial. Unless you cancel before it ends, the subscription starts automatically at the price above and renews automatically — monthly or yearly, matching what you chose — until you cancel it. Each renewal is charged to the store account you bought it with, within 24 hours of the period ending.
Cancelling. We cannot cancel it for you, because we never hold the payment. Apple and Google do, and only they can stop it:
- iPhone or iPad — Settings → your name → Subscriptions
- Android — Play Store → profile → Payments and subscriptions
Cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends, or that renewal will already have been taken. Cancelling stops the next payment; it does not shorten the period you have already paid for, and you keep everything until that period runs out.
Refunds. Purchases are handled by Apple and Google, so refunds are theirs to give and are subject to their terms — for Apple, reportaproblem.apple.com; for Google, the Play Store order history. If you believe you have been charged in error, write to contact@gardenvive.com and we will help you put it right, but the refund itself has to come from the store.
Cancelling never deletes anything. Your beds, plantings, journal and photographs stay exactly as they are. The planner locks until you subscribe again, and everything is there when you come back. Deleting your account is a separate act and does remove it all — see deleting your account.
If the price ever changes, you will be told before it applies to you, and the stores require your consent before charging a higher amount.
Availability
ZoneSprout is offered as it is. It may be unavailable while it is being updated or if something breaks, and features may change or be withdrawn.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost plants, lost crops, lost time or money spent on the strength of the app's suggestions. Nothing here limits any liability that cannot legally be limited.
Changes
These terms may change. The date at the top moves when they do, and continuing to use the app means the new ones apply.
