Please say which state and USDA zone you are in โ€” nearly every question about dates turns out to depend on it.

The usual questions

My planting dates look wrong

Every date is calculated from your USDA hardiness zone and the frost dates for it, so the first thing to check is that the zone is right. Tap the location chip at the top of any screen to change it. Settings has a page explaining how a date is worked out from the frost dates, so you can see where a particular one came from.

A plant I searched for is not there

By default the app only shows what will actually grow where you are, which is the whole point of it. Tick "Search everywhere, not just <your zone>" above the search box to include plants that will struggle in your zone โ€” a gumbo limbo is real, it just will not survive a Texas winter.

If it is genuinely absent, tell us. Plants are added regularly and requests are the main reason a particular one gets added next.

The zone from my ZIP code is wrong

Hardiness zones can change within a few miles, and a ZIP code covers an area. Set the state and zone yourself from the location chip if you know better than the lookup does โ€” you probably do.

Do I need an account?

No. The whole plant database, every chart and the native lists work without one. An account exists so your beds, plantings and journal survive a new phone.

I want my account deleted

See deleting your account.

Is my data sold or tracked?

No. There are no advertising, analytics or tracking SDKs in the app at all. The privacy policy lists every field that is stored and why.
